THE STORY
A floor matching exposed concrete
Instead of seeking a suitable business product, we were just looking for the perfect floor to fit in a dream home: Smooth, seamless, uniform while still maintaining a natural look. One that would perfectly match the exposed concrete on the walls and provide the foundation for a pure minimalist design. After a detailed market research, walking around multiple showrooms and viewing reference projects, there was still nothing sufficiently convincing in terms of design or quality of workmanship.
A market gap
Our own track record in construction and one good contact convinced us to come up with our own material. The development, the testing of an entire range of materials and samples, the fine-tuning of colours, and technical testing... In the end, the result was just perfect. And our visitors liked it, too. The visits generated demand and the gap in the market led to Authentic Surface.
3D base for minimalism
In addition to cast concrete floors, we have further developed Concrete Make-Up to retouch any exposed concrete imperfections, as well as concrete plaster that perfectly matches the colour and texture of exposed concrete. Floors, walls, and even concrete ceilings, in a single tonal range that delivers a perfect foundation for minimalist interiors. We continued with seamless bathrooms, designer furniture with Authentic Surface finish, and designer 3D stone with a cement base.
Expanding our portfolio
Increasing demand has been accompanied by additional design requirements, so the Authentic Surface portfolio gradually grew to include leading-quality ecological microcement suitable for floors, walls, along with wet areas, polyurethane and epoxy floors, and even limewash walls.
SUSTAINABILITY
Most of our materials are zero-VOC, non-toxic, with EPD (Environmental Product Declarations), and hold LEED, BREEAM, and WELL sustainability certification.
The Authentic Surface range is free of volatile organic substances, posing absolutely no danger to human health. Our materials are breathable, mostly water-based, and recyclable.
Our products are cement- and polymer-based. Approximately 15% of the materials used come from recycled sources.
Only water (possibly with soap) is used for the maintenance of all our waterproof materials. There is no need to apply aggressive chemical substances.
Expanding our portfolio
We use the thinnest possible coating thickness to avoid the wasting of material and resources. Compared to conventional floor and wall surfaces, this product range represents one of the most material-friendly options. Moreover, the application does not result in waste of material due to tile offcuts.
Some of our materials are delivered in concentrated powder form (thus saving transport and packaging costs). They are only mixed in exact proportions with water at the actual construction site.
However, our liquid mixtures are also less costly to transport compared to conventional finished floor and wall material, thus reducing our carbon footprint.
Part of our materials can also be applied to existing surfaces, not just reducing waste but also needs for any demolition work.

INDUSTRIAL
Concrete does not necessarily have to deliver that industrial look – we will show you concrete applied in a subtle, stylish, elegant or minimalist design. We've developed surfaces that are genuinely versatile. They will not only perfectly serve to help create pure minimalist designs but also a relaxed boho style, unrestrained nomad style interiors, sophisticated masculine design, Scandinavian hygge as well as modern urban style.
RAW
Concrete does not need to come across as raw. Authentic Surface Concrete Make-Up is designed to soften the raw look of exposed concrete, using more pronounced colour tones and texture. It retouches spots, transitioning between colours and surface irregularities that are common when working with exposed concrete (due to weather, temperature, quality of ingredients, etc.).
COOL
Concrete doesn't have to feel cold – we've developed colour shades, most of which come across as neutral and warm, with a rather earthy tonality creating a very natural and subtle impression. However, it can definitely look ‘cool’.
SAMPLING
Custom-made and performed in real daylight
Each and every interior has different lighting conditions, different furnishing colours and materials, as well as different background seen behind the window... All of this influences the final colour tonality of your floors. This is why we recommend our clients to always test several colour samples directly where the floor will be installed, ideally at different times of the day. We will be happy to prepare tailor-made samples for you and gladly provide advice on the spot.
